Nanny’s Donates Proceeds from T-Shirts to Sanibel Sea School

Nanny’s of Sanibel recently donated $500 to Sanibel Sea School from proceeds earned through their sea turtle patrol T-shirt design. These funds will help Sanibel Sea School expand the reach of its mission to improve the ocean’s future, one person at a time.
“As a small local business, it’s so important to us to support island organizations like Sanibel Sea School,” says Heather Termini, Nanny’s owner. “They do an amazing job teaching our kids about the water and marine life all around us, and we want to help in any way we can.”
The funds from the sea turtle patrol shirts will go towards Sanibel Sea School’s scholarship fund, allowing the organization to teach even more people about ocean love. The scholarship fund provides financial assistance to families in need to attend the school’s camps or day courses. Families are asked to contribute what they can, and the organization covers the rest through scholarships.
“Donations such as these are the heart of what supports our sandy bucket school,” says Sanibel Sea School Director Shannon Rivard. “These funds will help give children, who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to put their feet in the sand and create a meaningful connection with the ocean.”
The scholarship fund also supports Sanibel Sea School’s A Chance to Sea program. Marine science educators visit classrooms and community centers, pick up students for field trips to the beach, and host hundreds of other ocean adventures free of charge to connect deserving children in Southwest Florida with our region’s natural environment.
