Jordyn Sateren
Despite growing up in the landlocked state of Oklahoma, Jordyn has always been drawn to the water. She grew up swimming and snorkeling where she became captivated by nature and its creatures. After becoming scuba certified she knew she wanted to turn her passion for the ocean and environment into conservation efforts, which led her to study marine science at Coastal Carolina University. While at university, she had a multitude of opportunities to expand her understanding of the marine world including a study abroad trip to Jamaica researching Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease and participating in a project monitoring marine species abundance offshore of North Carolina on SharkCam. In the summer of 2023, she spent time in the Florida Keys working in education and field work for youth. She is very excited about spreading the joy and understanding of the importance of the interconnectedness of the ocean, its creatures, and Earth’s people.
